Annual bike ride benefits Hiawatha kids

The 16th Annual Hiawatha Bike Ride Around Iowa (HiBRAI) will be held Aug. 18-19, continuing a 16-year tradition that benefits Hiawatha summer programs.
The 55-mile bike ride includes an overnight stay at the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort.
The registration fee is $45 per person, $60 after Aug. 5. Rooms can be reserved by calling the Riverside Resort at (877) 677-3456 (Note: mention the event and receive a special room rate).
Support vehicles will be available for any emergency situations along the route. Fully stocked rest stops will be available as well, with snacks and lunches provided by many local sponsors. There will be a poolside happy hour as riders arrive at the casino.
Maps and emergency information will be given out at Fay M. Clark Park during check-in Saturday, Aug. 18 from 7-8 a.m.
The ride benefits Hiawatha's summer programs offered by the Hiawatha Parks and Recreation Department.
