Encore Cafe
The Marion Public Library and Parks and Recreation Department presents a new and innovative cafe program for seniors in Marion. Encore Cafe will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Lowe Park, and on Fridays and Mondays at the Marion Public Library, from noon to 1 p.m. Encore Cafe will feature a menu with dishes ranging from turkey and mashed potatoes to pasta and tacos. Following the lunch will be a brief program. Encore Cafe is a one-stop shop for nutrition, health education, and socialization time with friends! This program is for seniors 60 years old and older. Admission is $5 for seniors 60 and older and $8 for those under 60 years old.
Marion Heritage Center's ART Show
Stop by the Marion Heritage Center and Museum Wednesdays through Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m., to go through their new exhibit, ART by Your Friends and Neighbors. This is the 17th annual exhibit displaying more than 60 works of art by local citizens. Some works can be purchased. New this year is "Repeat, Repeat, Repeat," painted by six members of the Creative Artists Group. Admission is free. People's Choice awards sponsored by Hills Bank & Trust. The exhibit will be on display through July 28, 2018.
Marion by Moonlight
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and your family, and enjoy live music at City Square Park every Thursday evening starting at 6:30 p.m. Food is also available. Check the Facebook event page for more details and kids activities before the movie beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Sunrise Yoga
Sunrise Yoga is back! Every Saturday morning in June, July and August, starting at 7:30 a.m. at Lowe Park enjoy the beautiful outdoors and be at one with nature. Participants must bring their own yoga mat or towel for class.
Marion Farmers' Market
Start your weekend out right on Saturday mornings by supporting fresh local produce, meats, baked goods, and more at the Marion Farmers' Market every Saturday at 8 a.m. at Taube Park.
Picnic on the Prairie Pieta Brown
Join the Marion Arts Council for its fifth annual summer music concert on Saturday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at Lowe Park. This year's performance is Pieta Brown has been recognized by Wall Street Journal, American Songwriter, and Amazon. This event is free and open to the public.
Historical Walking Tour of Marion
The Marion Public Library welcomes local historian, Mark Stoffer Hunter for the 2018 Historical Walking Tour of Marion on Tuesday, June 19, starting at 7 p.m. Enjoy a walk around Uptown Marion with "Mr. History."
Planning & Zoning Meeting
There will be a Planning & Zoning meeting on Wednesday, June 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Board of Adjustment Meeting
There will be a Board of Adjustment meeting on Wednesday, June 20, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
City Council Meeting
The City Council will meet on Monday, June 18, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Monday, July 2, at 7 p.m.
Civic Club Meeting
The Robins Civic Club will meet on Tuesday, July 10, at 7 p.m.
