The Marion Heritage Center will reopen June 17 for the limited business hours of Wednesday through Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m., by reservation only. Groups will be limited to 10, and then only if the participants are in regular contact with each other already.

The Art by Your Friends & Neighbors exhibition will run through the month of July. You can also still purchase pieces and vote for your favorite artist there, too. The museum is grateful to Hills Bank & Trust Company for their continuing support for the exhibit and funding for the People's Choice awards. Admission is free again this year courtesy, of the McIntyre Foundation of Cedar Rapids.

Everyone must wear a mask, without exception. The staff will maintain a record of all visitors who will supply their names, addresses and phone numbers should COVID-19 contact need to be traced later. The staff will maintain physical distancing. Touched surfaces (e.g stair rails, door knobs, elevator buttons, bathroom fixtures) will be cleaned, as required, after every visit. All rules will be subject to change pursuant to the Center of Disease Control and Iowa Department of Public Health guidelines and orders from both the Linn County Public Health authorities and the Iowa Governor.

Please call the Center at 319-447-6376 to make a reservation, at least 24 hours in advance. All reservations will be confirmed with a callback.

In preparation for reopening after the extended hiatus the Center has been thoroughly cleaned top to bottom, with no signs of pests or mold. The water pipes and hot water heater have been flushed to move out stagnant water. Foster's Heating & Air Conditioning has inspected the HVAC system and made some changes and recommendations to maximize the intake of outside fresh air. All air filters have been changed. Different options for adding enhanced (HEPA and/or UV air cleaning) to the system is also currently being evaluated.
