Indians lose season opening series

The Marion baseball team knew they would have their hands full on opening day against their conference rival Central DeWitt Sabers. Unfortunately for the Indians, they couldn't get things going on Monday night as they suffered a pair of 7-2 losses to fall to 0-2 on the season.
The Sabers and Indians both entered the game as ranked teams in a lot of polls throughout the state of Iowa with Central DeWitt being ranked as high as number one. The Sabers showed their capability to have big innings at the plate when they need it the most. Marion will need to get the bats rolling a little bit more moving forward.
The Indians will look to get in the win column for the first time this year on Thursday against Benton Community.
