A pleasant experience awaits you at the Marion Farmers' Market

There is a first for everything, and this past Saturday was my first time going to the Marion Farmers Market. I was worried I would be overwhelmed, but the experience was wonderful and I can't wait to go again. The people were delightful, the produce was fresh and yummy, and it was nice to be outside while also shopping. The Marion Farmers Market is located at Taube Park and open from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
During the ride to the market it was a little cloudy, and I was worried about rain, but I did not let that get me down. My dad and I got there early and we waited to see what was going on at the market. The bell rang and we made our way to the first vendor where we were informed the asparagus being sold was the last of the season so we were sure to acquire it. The big bright red colored radishes also caught my eye and I couldn't help but to buy some. Along with those purchases we bought lettuce, turnips, broccoli, and kohlrabi. The people seemed excited to see familiar vendors and buy their favorite produce.
I also met Jerry of Jammin Jerry's Jams. He recommended trying the raspberry rhubarb jam. It was wonderful. He had many different flavors and varieties of jams. After making that purchase my dad and I rushed to the fresh baked goods; we saw many delicious treats there, from handmade pies to delicious kolaches. After eyeing the baked goods, we settled on a coffee cake, which was a wonderful treat later at home. The conclusion to my first experience at the market ended with our hands full with food and money well spent.
I can't wait to come again. I am excited for what the market has in store for this summer, because it felt good to buy farm fresh produce while also supporting the farmers of this community. Every Saturday the Marion Farmers Market is located at Taube park from 8 to 11:30 a.m. I look forward to seeing you there!
