by Report Submitted · June 18th, 2020
A long-time spring tradition at LMHS is the annual Fine Arts Awards Ceremony and Thespian induction. This year, the event has been postponed until a later date.
However, one key element of the evening is the presentation of the Linn-Mar Fine Arts Awards. The officers of Linn-Mar Thespian Troupe 680 attend each play throughout the year, and they nominate actors and techies in multiple categories.
This year, the troupe voted from home electronically and the following winners were chosen.
Best Female Lead - Ruthie Gustason as "Dr. Vivian Bearing" in Wit
Best Male Lead - Cavan O'Hara as "Mr. E.S. Solvedd" in Alibis
Best Make Supporting Role - Isaac Langley as "Mufasa" in The Lion King, Jr.
Best Female Supporting Role - Tanairi Narvaez as "Nala" in The Lion King, Jr.

*The spring musical, "The Wizard of Oz" was not presented this year due to the pandemic. The "best villain" nomination was determined during rehearsals for the production.
