Linn County Fair 2020 goes on - virtually
by Report Submitted · June 18th, 2020
Although the Iowa State Fair is cancelled, the Linn County Fair is going on virtually.
Due to the ongoing social distancing guidelines and additional precautions taking place to help slow and reduce the spread of
COVID-19, the Linn County 4-H and FFA fair events will be held on a virtual platform. This includes judged fair exhibits as well as a few "get-together" events such as trivia and Bingo.
4-H youth are hard at work preparing livestock, static, and communications exhibits to be entered in the virtual fair. They uploaded photos, videos, and write-ups in an online FairEntry system from June 2nd-June 15th. Judges are scheduled to review the entries after that deadline and will provide feedback to exhibitors on their projects along with ribbon placings.
The public will still have opportunities to view exhibits through photos and video recordings of the shows. Photos and videos will be released as soon as judging is complete, and the videos are available.
The Linn County 4-H Youth Council is also hard at work creating an interactive virtual fair experience where 4-H members and the public can take an interactive tour around the fairgrounds to experience favorite fair events and sites, while alsoviewing the exhibitors' hard work.
As you wander the virtual fairgrounds, watch for familiar Bitmojis that you know all around the fair.
Below is a schedule for release of show information & results:
