Marion's Wright named Top 100 Prospect

Marion senior-to-be Riley Wright was recognized by ESPN.com and their HoopGurlz rankings. The prominent sports network recently released their annual rankings of high school girls basketball prospects around the nation for the classes of 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Wright, a member of the Class of 2021, was slotted in the 86 spot out of the top 100 current juniors in the nation. An All-State player and former state champion for the Indians, Wright averaged just under 14 points per game last season in addition to averaging over five assists per game. She has earned a reputation as a dynamic playmaker who is dominant with the ball in her hands.

Wright has plans to join the University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team once her time as an Indian is up. Her teammate and 2020 Marion graduate, Kayba Laube, is going to become a Panther as well.
