The Iowa High School Athletic Association, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds plus her office and Iowa Farm Bureau recently collaborated to honor some of the top academic achieving senior student-athletes from across the state of Iowa for the 2020 Governor's Scholar Program. The Marion Indians and the Linn-Mar Lions were both well represented as each school had two honorees.
Marion seniors Josephine Hancox and Jasmine Pizano earned this distinct honor by hard work and dedication in the classroom over their tenures as Indians.
As for the Linn-Mar Lions, they are represented by Savannah Zhou and Srikar Vanavasam for their academic efforts during their high school career.
A grand total of 424 seniors from across the Hawkeye State were selected to the program. Each student will receive a plaque of recognition in addition to a certificate to honor their achievements.
