(CNN) A lawyer for actor Jonathan Majors denied that on Wednesday A new report on the Marvel star’s abuse allegations.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, Variety reported Wednesday that additional victims of alleged abuse have come forward and are cooperating with the Manhattan district attorney’s office after the actor. He was arrested and imprisoned The assault and harassment charges in March followed an alleged domestic dispute in New York last month.
When reached by CNN on Wednesday night, a spokeswoman The Manhattan district attorney declined to comment. And CNN could not independently confirm that the alleged victims had come forward.
“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has never abused anyone,” his attorney, Priya Chowdhury, said in an email to CNN. “We have provided the District Attorney with irrefutable evidence that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”
Since his trial in late March, Majors has recently starred in “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum of Solace.” Published A judge granted a limited defense on his own recognizance, according to the district attorney’s office.
The March complaint against Majors did not name the female accuser, but said he “struck her in the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear.”
