Advertisement Brooks, Higgins Make INA All-State Teams
by Brandon Leonard Correspondent · November 30th, 2017

Marion senior Blair Brooks and Linn-Mar senior Riley Higgins were selected to the INA All-State Football teams for their performances on the football field this season. Brooks was selected to the Class 3A Third Team as a receiver while Higgins was a Class 4A Third Team selection at defensive line.

Brooks, a University of Iowa commit, put up some solid stats despite seeing heavy coverage game in and game out for the Indians. Brooks hauled in 42 receptions for 592 yards and nine touchdowns. During his time as an Indian, Brooks practically rewrote the record books when it came to receiving yards. Before turning his attention to the

Hawkeyes, Brooks will look to cap off a historical prep career in track and field.

Higgins, a 6'4" 230-pound senior, didn't rack up the stats, but made an impact for the Lions this season. Higgins recorded six and a half tackles on the season, one of which was for a loss. He also paved the way offensively for a Linn-Mar rushing attack that racked up nearly 1300 rushing yards this season.
