by DJ Kauffman Correspondent · November 9th, 2017

A check in the amount of $2,424 was presented to the Marion Independent School Foundation & Alumni Association at the Marion High School by The Freeze of Marion owners and associates on Monday, November 6, at 7:30 a.m. This second annual The Freeze $1-per-cone fundraising event was held from October 27 to October 30.

During the event, several students who participated in the fundraiser spoke to us about their experiences.

London Wagner, a senior at Marion HS said it is awesome to help her school. She said she will continue working at The Freeze over the summer and is exploring college options for next year.

Livvy Draves, a Marion HS junior said participating in the fundraiser was the best experience ever. Besides serving patrons ice cream cones, she said she danced in a cone costume outside the shop on Friday, Saturday, and Monday.

Skylar Dede a senior, who has worked at The Freeze for four years, said there were more people this year than last, and she will continue working for the company next summer.

Maddie Knapp, a junior, said it was "fun to see all of the people support The Freeze."

Amy Noble, a junior, said she loves giving back to the community.

Madison Frericks, a sophomore, said it was nice to see all the people support their children.

The Freeze is currently closed for the season, but will reopen March 1, weather permitting, said The Freeze owner Jonnie Quigley.
